Order Confirmed
Day 0

You receive an order confirmation email. Our production team reviews your measurements and style selections. If we have any questions (rare, but it happens), we'll email you before proceeding — we never guess.

Fabric Preparation
Days 1–3

Your fabric is prepared for cutting. For in-stock fabrics, this is immediate. For specialty fabrics sourced from mills, there may be additional lead time (we'll notify you if so).

Pattern & Cutting
Days 3–5

Your custom pattern is drafted from your measurements. The fabric is laid out and cut to your pattern — this is the point of no return, where the fabric is committed to your garment.

Construction
Days 5–14 (shirts/trousers) · Days 5–28 (suits/jackets)

Your garment is assembled by our tailors. Shirts and trousers move through construction in about 10 days. Suits and jackets require more stages — canvas work, lapel shaping, multiple fittings on the form — and take 2–4 weeks.

Quality Inspection
1–2 days before shipping

Every garment is inspected against your order specifications — measurements verified, stitching checked, buttons secured, details confirmed. If we catch a problem, we fix it before shipping (which is better than you catching it after).

Your garment is carefully packaged and handed to DHL. You'll receive an email with your tracking number and a direct link to track your shipment in real time.

Production time is the time from order placement to dispatch. It varies by garment complexity.

What can add time

Mill-sourced fabrics: Some premium fabrics are ordered from Italian and British mills when you place your order. This can add 1–3 weeks. We'll notify you if your fabric has additional lead time. Measurement clarification: If we need to confirm a measurement or detail, we email you and pause production until you respond. The faster you reply, the faster we ship. Peak seasons: Wedding season (April–June, September–October) and holidays may extend production by a few days.

Occasionally, customs authorities may hold a package for inspection. This is standard procedure and beyond our control. We provide complete commercial documentation (invoices, HS codes, content descriptions) to facilitate the fastest possible clearance. In most cases, DHL handles customs formalities automatically.

Import Duties & Taxes

Import duties and taxes are set by your country's customs authority, not by Luxire. They are the customer's responsibility and are not included in our pricing. Here's what to expect.

What we provide

Every international shipment includes a complete commercial invoice with accurate content descriptions, HS codes for clothing, and declared values matching your order total. This documentation helps customs process your package quickly and accurately.

What we cannot do

We cannot mark packages as "gifts," declare lower values, or falsify any customs documentation. Under-declaring is illegal in every jurisdiction, risks fines and confiscation, and creates liability for you. We always declare accurately — this is non-negotiable and ultimately protects you.

💡 Worried about unexpected duties?

If you want an estimate before ordering, email us with your country and approximate order value. We can provide a rough estimate based on typical rates for clothing imports. This won't be exact (only customs can determine the final amount), but it helps you budget. Many of our customers find that duties are a small percentage of the total and well worth it for the quality they receive.

If this is your first order with us and it's for an important event, add 2–3 extra weeks to the timelines above. This gives us room to dial in your fit if any adjustment is needed. It's much less stressful to have your garment ready 2 weeks early than to be cutting it close. For weddings, we strongly recommend ordering 12+ weeks out for suits.

Need it faster?

Contact us with your order details and deadline. Rush production may be possible depending on the garment type and current workshop load. Rush fees apply and vary by garment complexity and turnaround required. We'll give you an honest assessment of whether we can meet your timeline — we'd rather tell you upfront than promise and underdeliver.

Tracking Your Order

Before shipping (production phase)

During production, there's no tracking number yet — your garment is being made. If you'd like a status update at any point, email us with your order number and we'll tell you exactly where it stands: fabric preparation, cutting, construction, or inspection.

After shipping

Once dispatched, you'll receive an email with your DHL tracking number and a direct link. DHL's tracking is detailed — you'll see every scan point from our workshop to your door, including customs clearance status. You can also track via the DHL website or app.

Delivery options

DHL Express delivers to your door and typically requires a signature. If you're not available, DHL will usually attempt redelivery or leave instructions for pickup at a nearby DHL service point. You can manage delivery preferences directly through DHL's "On Demand Delivery" service once you have your tracking number.

Shipping Address

Changing your address before shipping

Email us with your order number and new address. If the order hasn't shipped yet, we'll update it — simple.

Changing your address after shipping

Once the package is with DHL, you may be able to redirect it using DHL's "On Demand Delivery" service. We can also contact DHL on your behalf to request a redirect, though this isn't always possible depending on the shipment stage. The sooner you let us know, the better the chances.

Wrong address entered at checkout

Contact us immediately. If we catch it before shipping, it's an easy fix. If the package has already shipped to the wrong address and is returned to us, we'll reship at no extra cost.

Common Questions

📦 Can I combine multiple orders into one shipment?

Yes. If you place multiple orders and they'll be ready around the same time, email us and we'll hold them to ship together. This saves on shipping costs (especially for orders below the free shipping threshold) and means everything arrives at once. Just let us know before the first order ships.

🎁 Can I send an order to someone else as a gift?

Absolutely. Enter the recipient's address as the shipping address at checkout. We can include a brief gift message if you email us after placing the order. The commercial invoice (required for customs) will show the order value — we cannot omit it, but we can ensure it's inside the package rather than attached to the outside.

📮 Can you ship to a PO Box or APO/FPO address?

DHL Express requires a physical street address for delivery. PO Boxes are not supported. For APO/FPO (US military) addresses, please contact us and we'll find the best shipping solution for your situation.

✈️ I'm traveling — can you ship to my hotel or temporary address?

Yes, as long as it's a physical address that can accept packages. Include your name and "Guest" or your reservation details in the address field so the hotel knows to accept the delivery. For time-sensitive situations, contact us to confirm expected dispatch dates so you can coordinate your travel.

📄 I need an invoice or receipt for business expenses

Your order confirmation email serves as a receipt. If you need a formal invoice with specific details (company name, VAT number, etc.), email us with your order number and the details you need on the invoice. We'll generate and send it within 24 hours.

📏 I want to send you a garment for reference — how do I ship to you?

We welcome reference garments — measuring an existing garment you love is one of the best ways to ensure a great fit. Contact us first and we'll provide our workshop address along with a proforma invoice to attach to the package (this helps it clear Indian customs without duties). Ship via your preferred carrier with tracking. Once we've measured your reference garment, we'll ship it back to you along with your completed order.

🔄 What if my package is lost or damaged in transit?

Lost: If tracking shows no movement for 14+ days or shows delivered but you haven't received it, contact us. We'll investigate with DHL (5–10 business days). If confirmed lost, we remake and reship at no cost to you.

Damaged: Photograph the packaging and contents immediately. Email us within 48 hours. We file a DHL claim and remake damaged items at no cost. Keep all packaging until the claim is resolved.

Every shipment is insured, so you're protected regardless.

🏠 Can I visit the Luxire workshop in Bangalore?

Yes! If you're in Bangalore, you're welcome to visit our workshop for in-person fittings, fabric selection, and to see how your garments are made. Contact us to schedule an appointment. Local customers can skip shipping entirely — pick up your garment in person.
